PIKA FastOrange® B - 2036-1-6

PIKA FastOrange culture media are ready-made broth and agar media. No need to sterilise flasks nor to prepare media and can be used pre-PCR. There are four different FastOrange product lines and they all follow the same procedure.

With FastOrange® products, microbiology testing is easy and affordable for everybody: You just add your liquid sample into the delivered flask with enrichment broth. Then keep it at room temperature and watch for color change and visible turbidity/sediment formation. All FastOrange® products can be stored at room temperature so there is no need for a big laboratory, not even for a refrigerator or temperature cabinet.

Lactic acid bacteria Lactobacilli and Pediococci as well as the anaerobes Pectinatus and Megasphaera are easily detected by a color change of the broth from violet to yellow.

Incubation time is 2-3 days with PCR and 3-7 days with visual evaluation.

PIKA FastOrange® B Bouillon is a concentrated culture medium which specifically detects beer spoiling bacteria in all
stages of the brewing process from yeast to finished beer. 

For optimal color change, add an equal volume ratio of
FastOrange® B Bouillon to the sample and mix. The final
concentration of the medium is then 50%. The medium
has not to be accurately measured, it is sufficient to pour
it and visually judge the volume.
