The MASTER-BC & MASTER-BCF refractometers are used to measure the specific gravity of battery fluid (in either °C or °F) and for checking the freezing temperature of ethylene glycol and propylene glycol.

All models employ a plastic body designed to be resistant to ethylene glycol and propylene glycol, which are used as antifreeze mixture in automobiles, thermal catalyst for solar power systems and other industrial applications.
